Great Big Hole

Where does all the money go?

Flows down a great big hole

into the pocket of a bureaucrat

who takes his family down to Mexico

Where do all the poor folk go?

I think they put ’em in a great big hole

buried deep in a shallow grave

Doubt if we’ll see ’em ’round here again

Where do all the bad ones go?

There up on Wall Street procuring loans

Cooking books and selling alibis

We’re gonna’ hang ‘em up by their own neck ties

And I don’t know why I let ‘em go

I don’t know why I let ‘em go

Where do all the good ones go

They packed their bags and they went back home

Across the ocean deep and wide

I guess we'll see 'em later on the otherside

If I should die before I get old

I pray the Lord to take me home

‘Cause I don’t why I let ‘em go

I don’t why I let ‘em go

--Where do all the young ones go?

They’re reinforcing the battle zone

Saving face for some diplomat

who takes his family down to Mexico)

Where did all my lovin’ go?

She packed her bags and she went back home

The love I gave her nearly did her in

Guess I’ll never see her ‘round here again

And I don’t know why I let her go

I don’t know why I let her go--
